AHDB Pork has appointed Nigel Penlington as its new head of research & development and knowledge exchange.
Stepping up from being the organisation’s environment and buildings team manager, Mr Penlington said that his first focus would be on delivering the business plan so that levy-payers and my colleagues come first.
“In the longer term there may be scope for some integration of the different livestock sectors,” he said, “particularly as far as the environment is concerned. I am not looking to make any immediate changes, however.”
Mr Penlington (pictured above), who has been with AHDB Pork since 2004, takes up his new position with immediate effect and will be recruiting somebody to fill his previous position within the organisation.
His new role is slightly different to that vacated by Andrew Knowles earlier this year as the communications part of the job has been moved to be controlled centrally under the AHDB’s new corporate structure.
