East Anglia will host a major auction on September 7 when Peter Crichton conducts a dispersal sale of indoor pig equipment for Bacton Pigs at Jacksons Farm, Wyverstone, Stowmarket, Suffolk (IP14 4SD).
The auction marks a significant turning point in the production system operated by the Black family – who were also the inspiration behind the David Black Award – as they’re now concentrating on rearing and finishing pigs produced from their outdoor units and, as a result, have closed two indoor breeding units.
The auction includes a wide range of modern pig equipment, but one of the most unusual features is a collection of nine Massey Ferguson 135 tractors dating from 1966 to 1992.
