MSD Animal Health has appointed the former head of its Poland and Baltics division, Albert Urbanek, to run its integrated livestock business unit (ILBU) in the UK.
Mr Urbanek (pictured), who is a qualified vet and holds an MBA from Warsaw School of Economics, takes over from David Schofield who has led the ILBU for the past six years and retires at the end of 2014.
In addition to his Poland and Baltics role, where he became general manager in 2008, Mr Urbanek was also instrumental in leading the commercial organisation of the company’s interests in Norway in 2012 and 2013.
Alongside its welcome for Mr Urbanek, MSD Animal Health paid tribute to Mr Schofield for his “dedication to its animal health business and the UK’s veterinary health sector”, providing the company’s customers with “tremendous support” throughout his years of service.
