AHDB Pork has appointed Claire Barber as its new welfare officer, utilising her practical experience of working with a wide range of animals and her training in animal management.
“Claire will be a real asset to the team, with her experience in the area of animal welfare as well as livestock genetics,” said AHDB veterinary team manager, Martin Smith.
Claire (pictured above) studied animal management at the University of Wales, Bangor, before going on to complete a PhD at Silsoe and Bristol, looking at lighting, vision and the use of UV, mostly in poultry.
