Pilgrim’s UK has received a GroceryAid Gold Award for the third year in a row in recognition of its fundraising and volunteering efforts.
The higher welfare pork provider has raised money throughout the year for GroceryAid, which provides practical, financial and emotional support to people in the grocery trade. The Gold Award is the highest possible accolade businesses can receive and is awarded to those that support the charity through fundraising, raising awareness and volunteering efforts.
Pilgrim’s UK has supported a number of GroceryAid events, as well as employees volunteering for the charity and raising awareness of its work.
In addition, the business is an active member of the GroceryAid Welfare Strategy Committee – contributing with expert advice and strategic support.
Rachel Baldwin, Vice President Human Resources at Pilgrim’s UK, commented: “The past couple of years have been challenging for the industry, but GroceryAid has offered a vital lifeline for a number of workers in the sector. As a responsible business, we’re committed to supporting our colleagues, and we often signpost team members to GroceryAid, which offers a whole host of support options.
“We’re proud to work with GroceryAid and earning this award for the third year running is testament to the ongoing efforts of our team. We will continue to support them over the coming twelve months.”
