Pig producers have given their verdict on using Ceva Animal Health’s FORCERIS product, which prevents iron deficiency anaemia and controls coccidiosis in piglets.
The Ceva Swine Team ran a survey at the Pigs Tomorrow conference in May and online to gauge producer views on their experience with the product, including whether they were users and, if so, the main benefits they had seen on their farm.
The majority of producers who responded, 82%, were users and had been using the product for over 12 months (77%). The main benefits identified including convenience for staff, improved vitality of piglets and improved weaning weight.
Producers also saw a reduction in piglet scour and anaemic piglets, compared with their treatment regime before FORCERIS implementation.
Users also commented that it was ‘very convenient for staff’, caused ‘less stress on the piglet’ and was ‘time saving’, all of which indicate that the innovative product has benefited producers greatly, according to Ceva UK and Ireland swine product manager Christina Gale.
“FORCERIS was also described as a ‘game changer’ and producers said they ‘wouldn’t be without it’, which further emphasises the value of this combination product,” she said.
