The Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) said it is delighted that George Eustice MP has returned to Defra as part of the Prime Minister’s reshuffle.
Christopher Price, chief executive of the RBST, said: “We are delighted that George Eustice is back at Defra. His knowledge of and commitment to the future of UK farming in general and to our native breeds in particular is indispensable as we move towards our departure from the EU.
“Mr Eustice’s recent announcement that native breeds of livestock are a public good, which should qualify for support under the new Agriculture Bill, is especially welcome. RBST looks forward to working with him and his officials on how this can be implemented.”
