Brown’s Food Group, Scotland’s biggest pork producer, has released a new Kilted Pork Company range of sausages to promote Scottish heritage and its importance in pork production.
The packaging sports tartan sporrans of different colours across its range of products. These include Specially Selected Pork and four flavoured varieties of Cracked Black Pepper, Premium Haggis, Scotch Bonnet Chilli and Arran Mustard & Honey.
Brown’s food group, established by the Brown family in 1885 on the Scottish Borders, is using the campaign to push the importance of Scottish pork in the UK.

The CEO of Brown’s, Wayne Godfrey, said: “The thinking behind The Kilted Pork Company was to add value to Specially Selected Pork – the flagship brand of the pork industry in Scotland – which identifies meat from pigs that have been quality assured all of their lives.
“The whole industry’s aim is that when consumers see the Specially Selected Pork logo, they can be confident that the pork was 100% born, reared and processed in Scotland and that it holds whole of supply chain quality assurance.
Scotland’s beef, lamb and pork producers make a large contribution to the nation’s economic, social and environmental sustainability. The sector gives more than £2 billion to the annual GDP of Scotland, supporting 50,000 jobs in the farming supply and processing sectors.
Mr Godfrey added: “It is very important to us, as a company, to support Scottish farmers and promote their 100% Specially Selected Pork.”
In the eyes of the customer, Brown’s food group want the main message shoppers take away from the campaign to be awareness of what products offer the most support to local farmers, ensuring that their money goes to local businesses and animal welfare.
The sausages have arrived in most key retailers across Scotland, including over 100 Tesco stores, 25 Sainsburys, 300 Coop stores and 80 Scottish Asda supermarkets.
