The hunt is on to find one exceptional individual to receive the pig industry’s most prestigious award.
The David Black Award, sponsored by AHDB Pork, is presented every year to somebody who has made a valuable and sustained contribution to the industry.
Previous winners have come from a variety of backgrounds including production, academia, journalism, allied industries and processing.
AHDB Pork Strategy Director Mick Sloyan said: “Every year we look to reward an individual or organisation that has gone that extra mile for the pig industry. Over the years there have been many people who fit that description.
“The David Black Award is the highest honour the pig industry can bestow and we need the industry’s help to find a worthy recipient of this year’s award.”
The deadline for nominations is Friday 25 August and can be made through the AHDB Pork website at http://pork.ahdb.org.uk/news/david-black-award
The winner will be chosen by a panel of independent judges and will be presented at a prestigious industry breakfast in the autumn.
