A world of robotic devices with the ability to perceive and understand their environment, make informed decisions about any actions required and then carry out those actions, all without direct human input, will be the focus of next month’s AHDB-backed SmartAg conference.
Due to take place at Birmingham ICC on Tuesday, September 8, the event will include a keynote presentation by the internationally renowned professor of robotics and intelligent systems at the University of Sydney, Salah Sukkarieh.
Having led research and development projects in logistics, commercial aviation, aerospace, education, environment monitoring, agriculture and mining, Prof. Sukkarieh will use his SmartAg session to explain how his unit’s research is “invaluable in the development of smart technology that can meet the needs of UK agriculture”.
Other speakers will address research and development progress in relation to innovative technology, decision support systems, quantum imaging, computer science, sensors, computing, engineering, information technology and robotics.
