The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has set up an online order point for producers to secure resources to give away on Open Farm Sunday.
With more than 360 farms preparing to welcome the public June 8, the AHDB, which is a lead partner in the event, is making a whole range of free resources available for use on the day.
Â
All sorts of posters, leaflets and handouts are available to inform and engage visitors of all ages, and they’re all available from the AHDB’s online order point.
Â
The fun, educational resources on offer include:
- A “Wheat into Flour” pack
- Kids’ art templates
- Display posters and handouts on cereals & oilseeds
- Posters displaying beef and lamb cuts
- Beef and lamb guides and fridge magnet give-aways
- Lots of dairy posters and handouts
AHDB resources more focused on pigs are also available from www.porkpointofsale.co.uk
Â
“We’re keen to add to our support for Open Farm Sunday by making fun resources available for those farms that have decided to open up to the public to tell some of the great, wide-ranging stories that British agriculture has to tell,” the chairwomna of AHDB’s schools and education group, Diane Symes, said.
Â
AHDB Chairman Peter Kendall added that Open Farm Sunday would be a great opportunity for more than 200,000 people to get out on a British farm again this year.
Â
“We want levy payers to have all the support they need to make sure the visitors get to see first hand the passion that goes into great British food,” he said.
