A series of pig stockperson training courses is being provided, free of charge, by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).
The courses, due to be held in Perth, Nairn and Thainstone, Aberdeenshire, between March 29 and April 28, are being funded by a Scottish Government allocation to QMS provided through Scotland’s Resource Use Efficiency budget.
Training topics are:
- Gilt production selection & management
- Sow management weaning to mating & through gestation
- Farrowing management – sow & litter
- Weaner grower & finisher pig management
Each course will last for approximately 3.5 hours and cover both indoor and outdoor systems.
