Nominations for the 2013 BPEX Trainee of the Year award will close on August 26, 2013.
The award is open to all British pig unit personnel who can show how training is benefiting both their career and livestock performance on their unit, and nominations are welcomed from both experienced individuals and newcomers to the industry.
Shortlisted candidates for the award, which is sponsored by Pig World and Zoetis, will be invited for an informal interview on September 24, 2013 at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. It’s a condition of entry that candidates are available for interview on this date.
Last year’s BPEX Trainee of the Year Award was Piotr Wroblewski, farrowing herd manager of a 1,500-sow outdoor unit and AI stud for John Green in Suffolk. He was presented with his award — a trophy, a £1,000 training grant and a £500 cheque — by former farms minister Sir Jim Paice, at the Churchill War Rooms near Downing Street.
