Well-known pig farmer, Jon Easey, has died at the age of 55, following a long illness.
Jon was part of the Suffolk-based farming family that became big names in the pig industry, initially under the leadership of his father, Malcolm, who died in 2017 at the age of 76.
Easey Pigs, based near Eye, grew from a small mixed farm to become a major national pig business, with contracted farms across the country. It was bought by Tulip (now Pilgrim’s UK) in 2017, but the family continued to run a pig unit in Swaffham.
Jon was married to Sally with three boys, Ben, Tom and Harry. His brother Chris continues to be involved in the farming business.
