The search for further improvements in pig welfare, covering such issues as tail docking, mortality and castration, is to be the focus of a major international conference, to be held in Copenhagen in April.
Organised by the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and the Danish Centre for Animal Welfare (DCAW), the event, held on April 29/30, will address the theme of – Improving pig welfare – what are the ways forward?
While already promising to bring together a gathering of “highly esteemed scientists and specialists” to present current knowledge on pig welfare and to facilitate discussions on future developments, the organisers continue to “invite researchers to present posters on projects focusing on pig welfare”.
Attendance is free of charge.
